How Coriolis Mass Flow Meter Work

The meter diverts fluid through one or more vibrating tubes. As fluid flows, the induced Coriolis force causes a slight, measurable twist or phase shift in the tube’s vibration.

  • Mass Flow: The degree of the phase shift between the inlet and outlet sensors is directly proportional to the mass flow rate.
  • Density & Temperature: The resonant frequency of the oscillating tube changes based on the mass of the fluid inside, allowing for direct density measurement. Combined with an integrated temperature sensor, the meter simultaneously provides volumetric flow and concentration data.
